When I was a kid, I remember spending a great deal of my time collecting bugs outside. I’d spend hours watching little beetles or ants scurry around the makeshift container I had fashioned out of some spare pieces of wood. When my first grade teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was easy - a scientist!

My fascination with the world around me eventually led to my completion of a B.S. in Biology from George Mason University, a two year research gig at the National Institutes of Health, and a M.S. in Stem Cell Biology from Stanford University.

My years in the lab were fun, but what I discovered was that my favorite part about being a scientist was talking about my science with others. Exposing the people in my life to the exciting world of biology gave me much more joy than pushing around cells in a dish!

This website is a collection of things that I’ve written. I love every opportunity to use my science communication skills!
